Tragic Suicide of Maharashtra Female Doctor Following Dispute with Police Officials

A female physician reportedly took her own life at a district hospital in Maharashtra's Satara on Thursday evening, according to police statements released Friday.

The tragic event occurred at the Phaltan sub-district hospital facility.

Sources indicate the suicide happened during an ongoing conflict between the doctor and local law enforcement regarding a medical examination.

Prior to the incident, the physician and police officials had engaged in a disagreement, which subsequently led to a departmental investigation being initiated against the doctor, as per the same sources.

According to information received, the doctor had previously contacted her superior, expressing concerns about unfair treatment and warning that she might resort to suicide if the alleged mistreatment continued.
