Tragic Altercation at Kali Puja: Man Fatally Stabbed Over Music Dispute in West Bengal

A 30-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Sonarpur, West Bengal after turning off music at a Kali Puja celebration to accommodate an elderly neighbor with heart problems. The incident escalated when another neighbor confronted him about silencing the music, resulting in an altercation that led to multiple stab wounds and the victim's death at a local hospital.

Man Stabbed To Death Over Music At Kali Puja Pandal In Bengal: Cops

The fatal incident occurred following an intense dispute regarding music being played at a Puja pandal, according to police reports.

In West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district, specifically in Sonarpur, a young man lost his life after allegedly being stabbed by his neighbor during a confrontation over music playing at a Kali Puja pandal, police confirmed on Thursday.

According to authorities, the tragic event unfolded when Santan Naskar (30) switched off the sound system at the pandal after receiving a request from an elderly neighbor who was suffering from a heart condition.

Upon returning to his residence, Naskar was confronted by another neighbor and his wife who demanded to know why he had turned off the music at the religious gathering.

As reported in the complaint filed by the victim's family, a heated exchange ensued during which Naskar's mother was allegedly physically assaulted by the couple, a police officer stated.

When Naskar attempted to protect his mother, the neighbor reportedly stabbed him multiple times before the couple fled the scene.

Naskar was subsequently transported to a local hospital where medical professionals declared him deceased.
