54-Year-Old Journalist Brutally Murdered Near Prayagraj Hotel: Police Launch Investigation

Prayagraj:

A 54-year-old journalist was fatally attacked by unknown assailants near a hotel in Prayagraj, according to police reports.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Manish Shandilya informed PTI that the victim, Laxmi Narayan Singh, also known as Pappu, who worked as a journalist, succumbed to his injuries following the attack.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Pushkar Verma stated that Singh was assaulted with a sharp-edged weapon on Thursday evening. He was immediately transported to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in critical condition, where medical professionals pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Verma further noted that Singh was the nephew of former High Court Bar Association president Ashok Singh.

Law enforcement teams are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the perpetrators, and investigations are actively proceeding to apprehend those responsible for the attack.
