2 Men Accused Of Firing At Actor Disha Patani's House Killed In Encounter

Two men accused of opening fire at the Bareilly residence of Bollywood actor Disha Patani were killed following a police encounter in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad today, police said.

New Delhi:
Police confirmed today that two men accused of firing shots at Bollywood actor Disha Patani's Bareilly home were killed in a police encounter in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The suspects had connections to a major transnational criminal organization. During the joint operation conducted by Delhi Police's Special Cell, Haryana STF, and UP STF, a Delhi police officer was wounded in the confrontation.
The incident originated from a shooting that occurred at approximately 3:45 am on September 12, when gunfire erupted at Ms Patani's family residence in Bareilly's Civil Lines neighborhood, disturbing the otherwise peaceful residential area.
The actor's family members were present in the home during the attack, including her father, retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagdish Singh Patani, her mother, and her older sister Khushbu Patani.
Claim of ResponsibilityFollowing the attack, Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, who maintains extensive connections with organized crime networks, claimed responsibility through social media. Circulated screenshots of his statement suggested the attack was motivated by alleged comments made by Ms Patani and her sister regarding two religious figures: Sant Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya.
Police reported that his online post contained explicit threats and tagged several purported associates from his criminal network.
The Deadly ConfrontationThe joint operation in Ghaziabad today led to a direct confrontation with the suspects.

According to police, the suspects initiated gunfire as authorities approached. In the exchange that followed, both men sustained critical injuries. Though they were subdued, disarmed, and rushed to a hospital for treatment, they succumbed to their injuries. The deceased were identified as Ravindra from Rohtak and Arun from Sonipat.
Authorities recovered an arsenal from the scene, including a Glock pistol, a Zigana pistol, and multiple live rounds of ammunition.
