New Delhi:
NDTV revealed earlier this month how Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed, a UN-designated terrorist organization, is establishing Jamat ul-Muminat, a dedicated women's unit.
New documents obtained exclusively by NDTV now indicate that the group has launched an online training course called "Tufat al-Muminat" aimed at fundraising and recruitment purposes.
This course will feature female family members of Jaish leaders, including relatives of founder Masood Azhar and his commanders, who will instruct others about their 'duties' in relation to jihad and Islam. The online recruitment initiative is set to commence on November 8.
Daily 'lectures' lasting 40 minutes will be conducted by Azhar's two sisters, Sadiya Azhar and Samaira Azhar, whose sessions will aim to 'encourage' women to join the Jamat ul-Muminat.
According to sources, Sadiya Azhar, Masood's younger sister, has been appointed to lead the Jamat.
Sadiya's husband, Yusuf Azhar, was among several of Masood Azhar's family members killed during Operation Sindoor, an airstrike targeting Jaish headquarters in Bahawalpur this May. This military action was India's response to the April terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
Afreer Farooq, wife of Umar Farooq who was one of the Pahalgam attackers, has also been included in this initiative.
Meanwhile, Azhar is intensifying his fundraising efforts. Following his recent public address at Markaz Usman O Ali in Bahawalpur last month, Jaish is now collecting 500 PKR (approximately 156 INR) from each woman enrolling in this 'course' and requiring them to complete an online information form.
Sources indicate that the online format is designed to bypass extremist social norms in Pakistan that consider it inappropriate for women to venture out alone. The collection of the 500 PKR fee underscores Pakistan's hypocrisy in claiming to have implemented Financial Action Task Force regulations.
Azhar announced the formation of the Jamat women's unit on October 8. Subsequently, on October 19, an event called 'Dukhtaran-e-Islam' was held in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to initiate the process of bringing women into the organization.
