Fatal Collision in Jaipur: Four Family Members Dead After Speeding Thar Hits Motorcycles on NH-52

A devastating road accident in Jaipur's Chomu area claimed four lives and left three critically injured when a speeding Thar vehicle collided with three motorcycles carrying a family returning from a temple visit. The powerful impact occurred at 3 a.m. on NH-52, resulting in immediate and en-route fatalities, with police investigating overspeeding as the likely cause.

Police confirmed that all seven victims belonged to the same family.

A tragic road accident resulted in four fatalities and three severe injuries when a speeding Thar vehicle crashed into three motorcycles on National Highway 52 in Jaipur's Chomu area, Rajasthan, on Wednesday.

The family members were returning from a pilgrimage to the Khatushyam temple in Sikar district when the incident occurred.

Pradeep Sharma, Chomu Police Station in-charge, reported that the accident happened at approximately 3 a.m. near the Rampura culvert.

"The Thar was traveling at excessive speed when the driver lost control and collided with three motorcycles ahead. One victim died instantly, while six others suffered serious injuries," he explained.

The collision was so powerful that the motorcycles were completely crushed beneath the Thar vehicle.

Nearby residents quickly responded to the scene and notified authorities.

The injured victims were initially transported to Chomu Government Hospital before being transferred to SMS Hospital in Jaipur for advanced treatment. Tragically, three of the injured individuals, including one woman, succumbed to their injuries during transport, bringing the total number of fatalities to four.

According to police reports, all seven victims were family members residing in Nangal Jaisa Bohra within the Kardhani police station jurisdiction of Jaipur.

The deceased have been identified as Virendra Srivastava (55), originally from Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), living at Vaidyaji Ka Chowraha, Jaipur; Sunil Srivastava (50), son of Virendra Srivastava, also from Varanasi; Lucky Srivastava (30), son of Indraprakash Srivastava, resident of Brajwadi Colony, Jaipur; and Shweta Srivastava (26), wife of Lucky Srivastava, also from Brajwadi Colony, Jaipur.

The injured include Avinash (30), son of Vijay Bahadur, resident of Vaidyaji Ka Chowraha, Jaipur; Raunak (3), son of Avinash; and Sangeeta, wife of Virendra Singh, also residing at Vaidyaji Ka Chowraha, Jaipur.

The three injured victims continue to receive treatment at SMS Hospital, where medical staff describe their condition as critical.

Police have impounded the Thar vehicle involved in the accident and launched an investigation into the cause, with preliminary findings suggesting excessive speed and reckless driving as likely factors.
