Hyderabad:
Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar has alleged that Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) have entered into a "Rs 200 crore" covert agreement with the AIMIM, questioning why Asaduddin Owaisi's party is supporting them in Telangana while competing against them in Bihar elections. Kumar further claimed that Congress plans to donate 11 acres of temple land to the AIMIM if they secure victory in the upcoming Jubilee Hills bypoll in Hyderabad.
During a roadshow supporting BJP candidate L Deepak Reddy for the November 11 Jubilee Hills bypoll, Kumar delivered these accusations. He pointedly asked why AIMIM has chosen not to contest this particular bypoll when their stated objective elsewhere is to defeat the BJP.
"AIMIM possesses the kite while Congress and BRS control the thread—operating it together. However, in Jubilee Hills, BJP will cut both threads. If Congress wins, 11 acres of Peddamma Gudi land will be gifted to AIMIM. Why isn't AIMIM running in Jubilee Hills when their entire purpose elsewhere is defeating BJP? Because Congress and BRS have already finalized Rs 200 crore arrangements with them each," Kumar stated.
Peddamma Gudi refers to a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi located in the Jubilee Hills area.
Describing the Jubilee Hills by-election as a "first step toward a new Telangana," the BJP leader urged voters to "elect Deepak Reddy and establish the foundation for transparent governance and genuine development."
While AIMIM has not fielded any candidate for this bypoll, Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has urged residents to support Congress candidate Naveen Yadav to ensure local development.
"This is our party's decision. The current government will remain in power for at least 2.5-3 years, and this by-election won't change anything. When the assembly election occurs in 2028, you'll see what AIMIM will do in Jubilee Hills," he explained, emphasizing that their support applies only to the Telangana bypoll.
In Bihar, where state assembly elections are scheduled for next month, Congress participates in the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan alliance, while AIMIM is contesting independently.
