Bengaluru Dermatologist Arrested: Medical Professional Faces Charges for Sexual Misconduct Against Young Patient

Bengaluru authorities have taken a 56-year-old dermatologist into custody following allegations of sexual misconduct toward a young patient. The doctor is facing serious charges after allegedly harassing a 21-year-old woman who sought medical care at his clinic.

According to the police report, the incident occurred on October 18 when the woman visited Dr. Praveen's clinic seeking treatment for a skin infection. During her medical examination, the dermatologist allegedly engaged in inappropriate behavior, including forcing the patient to remove her clothes and subjecting her to unwanted physical contact.

The victim claims the doctor made improper advances, including hugging and kissing her without consent. Additionally, he reportedly made indecent comments and suggested they meet at a hotel later, further compounding the allegations against him.

Upon leaving the clinic, the distressed woman immediately informed her family members about the traumatic experience. Her family promptly supported her in filing a formal complaint with local law enforcement authorities.

Following the woman's report, police officials registered a case against the doctor under Sections 75 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which address sexual harassment and acts intended to insult a woman's modesty, respectively.

Law enforcement has confirmed that the accused medical practitioner has been arrested and remains in custody while a thorough investigation continues into the allegations. Authorities are now working to gather additional evidence related to the case.
