Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu for his Diwali greetings while extending birthday wishes to him, emphasizing the flourishing strategic partnership between India and Israel. The exchange highlighted the warm diplomatic ties between the nations, with the Israeli Embassy also participating in Diwali celebrations through traditional shopping and rangoli-making activities, showcasing the cultural bonds that complement their collaboration in innovation, defense, and friendship.

'May India-Israel Partnership Flourish': PM Modi On Netanyahu's Diwali Wish

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday for his Diwali greetings, while voicing hope for continued growth in the strategic partnership between India and Israel in the coming years.

In his message, PM Modi also conveyed birthday wishes to Netanyahu, wishing him good health and success in his endeavors.

"Thank you, my dear friend, for your warm Diwali greetings. I also extend my heartiest wishes on your birthday. Wishing you good health and success. May India-Israel Strategic Partnership continue to flourish in the years to come," wrote PM Modi on the social media platform X.

Modi's response followed Netanyahu's Diwali greetings to the people of India, in which the Israeli leader wished for hope, peace, and prosperity across the nation during the festival celebrations.

The Israel Prime Minister's Office shared Netanyahu's message: "PM Netanyahu: Wishing my friend Narendra Modi and the people of India a very Happy Diwali! May the Festival of Lights bring hope, peace and prosperity to your great nation. Israel and India stand together. Partners in innovation, friendship, defence and a brighter future."

A day earlier, the Israeli Embassy in India joined the Diwali celebrations by sharing a video on social media showing embassy officials shopping for traditional festival items like flowers and lamps, as well as creating rangoli decorations at the embassy premises.

"This Diwali, our diplomats went Diya and Decor shopping! May our homes be filled with love and light, today and everyday! Happy Diwali," stated the Israeli Embassy in their social media post.

Embassy spokesperson Guy Nir commented on the celebrations, saying he had an "amazing time" participating in the Diwali festivities, which included enjoying traditional sweets, food, dancing, and laughter.

"Had an amazing time celebrating #Diwali last week. It was a joy to reconnect with dear friends, make new ones, and experience the warmth and spirit of this beautiful celebration. From delicious sweets and incredible food, to vibrant lights, energetic dance, and endless laughter, every moment was a celebration of friendship and unity.
