PM Modi Celebrates Diwali With Navy Personnel Aboard INS Vikrant: Highlights Indian Maritime Security Role

Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with Indian Navy personnel aboard INS Vikrant, where he commended their vital role in protecting international maritime trade routes and praised their bravery during Operation Sindoor.

The remarkable synchronization between the three military branches compelled Pakistan to surrender during Operation Sindoor.

The Indian Navy plays a fundamental role in maintaining global stability. Approximately fifty percent of worldwide container vessels traverse the Indian Ocean. Our Navy serves as the guardian ensuring the safety of these crucial shipping lanes.

My experience aboard INS Vikrant last night is difficult to describe in words. I witnessed the tremendous energy and enthusiasm among all of you. When I observed you singing patriotic songs yesterday, and how you portrayed Operation Sindoor through your music, no language can truly express what a soldier feels while standing on the battlefield.

I consider myself fortunate to be celebrating this sacred Diwali festival among all of you brave Navy personnel.

Today, I am surrounded by boundless horizons and infinite skies on one side, and on the other, the magnificent INS Vikrant representing unlimited power. The sunlight reflecting on the ocean resembles Diwali lamps illuminated by courageous soldiers.

This day is truly extraordinary. This scene will remain etched in memory. Today, I have the vast ocean on one side and the strength of Mother India's valiant soldiers on the other.

Everyone wishes to celebrate Diwali with family. I too traditionally celebrate Diwali with my family members. That's why I come to celebrate with all of you, whom I consider my family. I am spending quality time with my family here. This Diwali holds special significance for me.

The deep darkness of the ocean at night and this morning's sunrise have made my Diwali exceptional in numerous ways... From INS Vikrant's decks, I extend Diwali greetings to all citizens of our country. Most importantly, I offer heartfelt Diwali wishes to your families as well.

Due to the courage and determination of our security forces, our nation has reached an important milestone. We are successfully eliminating Maoist terrorism.

I recall when INS Vikrant was commissioned to the nation, I stated that Vikrant is vast, immense, and magnificent. Vikrant is unique and exceptional. It's not merely a warship; it represents India's diligence, talent, capability, and commitment in the 21st century. When India received the indigenous INS Vikrant, our Navy discarded a significant symbol of colonial subjugation. Inspired by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, our Navy adopted a new flag.
