Dhar (MP):
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially laid the foundation stone for India's first Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.
During the same event, the Prime Minister also launched the 'Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar' and 'Rashtriya Poshan Maah' initiatives from Dhar.
The visit coincided with PM Modi's 75th birthday, marking his second birthday visit to Madhya Pradesh since 2022.
At a rally in Dhar district, he graciously acknowledged birthday greetings from attendees.
According to a government statement, the Centre has initiated the PM MITRA scheme to establish seven major textile manufacturing hubs across Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra, featuring global standard infrastructure and amenities.
The PM MITRA Park in Dhar district's Bhainsola village will span approximately 2,158 acres. The facility will be equipped with world-class infrastructure and is expected to significantly benefit cotton producers in the region.
The park's development includes a 20 Mega Liters per Day (MLD) common effluent treatment plant, a 10 Megavolt-amperes (MVA) solar power installation, uninterrupted water and electricity supply, modern roadways, and 81 plug-and-play manufacturing units, the statement explained.
The facility will also feature housing and social amenities for workers and women employees, transforming it from merely an industrial zone into an ideal industrial community.
Leading textile companies have already shown substantial interest in the PM Mitra Park, submitting investment proposals totaling Rs 23,146 crore to date, according to the government statement.
The 'Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar' campaign, running until October 2 at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (health and wellness centers), will prioritize women's health with emphasis on mental wellbeing, gender equality, adolescent anemia management, and active lifestyle promotion, officials reported.
Dr. Saloni Sidana, Director of the National Health Mission (NHM) in MP, noted that women often prioritize others' health over their own.
"Men should provide support, and women should dedicate at least one hour daily to self-care without feeling guilty," she emphasized.
Dr. Rachana Dubey, Director of NHM's Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Bureau, highlighted that many adolescents unknowingly suffer from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and encouraged them to participate in screenings during the campaign.
"We are establishing centers to provide comprehensive screening and treatment services," she stated.
The 8th annual 'Rashtriya Poshan Maah' will focus on reducing sugar and edible oil consumption, promoting early childhood care and education, and encouraging the use of locally available nutritious food resources.
