On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that India does not fear nuclear threats, while praising the effectiveness of 'Operation Sindoor' conducted in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
He highlighted that the terror organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM)'s acknowledgment of casualties during Operation Sindoor at their camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir merely "exposed" Islamabad's involvement in promoting terrorism against India.
The Prime Minister was speaking to a crowd in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, where he inaugurated various development projects on his 75th birthday.
"This is new India. It doesn't fear anyone. Indian forces can penetrate enemy strongholds. New India isn't intimidated by nuclear threats," he stated, seemingly referencing Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir's previous warning about nuclear conflict and threat to destroy "half the world" if Pakistan faced an existential threat in a potential war with India.
"During Operation Sindoor, we destroyed terror launch facilities. The Jaish terrorists revealed Pakistan's true nature," he further remarked.
His statements followed days after a high-level JeM member, Masood Ilyas Kashmiri, revealed that the family of organization leader Maulana Masood Azhar was "devastated by Indian forces in Bahawalpur" during Operation Sindoor.
The Prime Minister initiated the construction of India's first Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in the district. He also launched the 'Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar' and 'Rashtriya Poshan Maah' campaigns from the region.
According to a government statement, the PM MITRA scheme aims to establish large-scale textile manufacturing centers at seven locations across Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra with world-class infrastructure. The PM MITRA Park will cover approximately 2,158 acres in Bhainsola village, Dhar district, and will be equipped with premium facilities that will significantly benefit cotton producers.
The 'Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar' campaign will continue until October 2 at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (health and wellness centers), prioritizing women's health with emphasis on mental wellbeing, gender equality, adolescent anemia management, and active lifestyles, according to officials. This marks PM Modi's second birthday visit to Madhya Pradesh since 2022.
"Millions of mothers and sisters across India have been blessing me. The country's largest integrated textile park in Dhar will invigorate industry and ensure fair compensation for farmers' produce," he said.
PM Modi also noted the historical significance of the day: "On this day in 1948, Sardar Patel's firm determination was evident when our army freed Hyderabad and restored India's dignity," referring to the Hyderabad Liberation Day.
The occasion commemorates the anniversary of the former Hyderabad State under the Nizam's rule merging with the Indian Union on September 17, 1948.
