Folk Singer Maithili Thakur Files Nomination as BJP Candidate for Alinagar in Bihar Assembly Elections 2025

Folk singer Maithili Thakur has officially filed her nomination papers as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from the Alinagar Assembly constituency in Darbhanga for the upcoming Bihar elections.

Following her nomination submission in Darbhanga, Bihar, Thakur shared her emotions through a heartfelt post on social media platform X. She expressed profound gratitude for the opportunity to represent the BJP in Alinagar and mentioned participating in a blessing assembly attended by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai.

In her message, Thakur highlighted the overwhelming support she received from local residents, stating that their warmth and blessings serve as a significant inspiration for her political journey. She firmly committed herself to working with complete dedication toward the service, development, and welfare of Alinagar's people.

The folk singer extended special thanks to party workers, officials, and supporters who attended the nomination event in large numbers, referring to them as "divine-like workers" who have shown tremendous faith in her candidacy.

Thakur also conveyed deep appreciation to the BJP and NDA leadership at both central and state levels for placing their trust in her capabilities. She pledged to work tirelessly to serve Alinagar's residents and ensure that BJP-NDA welfare policies reach every village and individual within the constituency.

Her candidature was announced as part of BJP's second list of 12 candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections, bringing the party's total declared candidates to 83 out of its allocated 101 seats within the NDA coalition. Notable among other candidates is former IPS officer Anand Mishra, who will contest from the Buxar constituency.

The electoral schedule for Bihar's 243-seat Assembly has been set for a two-phase voting process on November 6 and November 11, with results to be announced on November 14.
