In Bhopal, authorities have arrested three male students from a government institution for allegedly recording women surreptitiously as they changed clothes before a cultural event in Madhya Pradesh.

The suspects, all between 20 and 22 years of age, are reportedly affiliated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student organization connected to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

The violation occurred during a youth festival at Bhanpura Government College in Mandasur district on Tuesday. According to police reports, security footage revealed four men sneaking into the area and capturing photos and videos of female students who were preparing in changing facilities. The college's acting principal observed suspicious behavior and subsequently filed a police report.

Mandsaur Superintendent of Police Vinod Meena stated, "The CCTV footage clearly shows four boys peeping through the window. Following this, a case was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. Three of the accused have been arrested, while the fourth is missing. Mobile phones of the arrested students have been seized for forensic examination."

The arrested individuals have been identified as Umesh Joshi, Ajay Gaud, and Himanshu Bairagi. Following the incident, ABVP immediately removed Umesh Joshi from his position as City Secretary.

Dr. Preeti Pancholi, Principal-in-Charge of Bhanpura Government College, explained, "During the youth festival, I suspected that someone was taking photos of the girls through the window. Upon checking the CCTV footage, we saw the suspicious activity and immediately filed a complaint. We expect the police to investigate thoroughly and ensure appropriate punishment."

Bhanpura Inspector Ramesh Chandra Dangi reported that while the accused deny all allegations, they have appeared in court, and their mobile devices are undergoing examination.

"Although there is no evidence yet that the girls were actually videotaped, we are taking action under applicable laws," he added.
