Prime Minister Narendra Modi requested a female booth worker in Bihar to address him as "bhaiya" (brother) rather than "sir," emphasizing that women's power represents his greatest strength, shield, and inspiration.
During a virtual interaction with BJP workers from Bihar through the NaMo app on Wednesday, PM Modi expressed confidence that the state would celebrate another Diwali on November 14 when the assembly election results are announced, with women playing a crucial role in securing the NDA's victory.
Modi encouraged the women of Bihar to participate in voting collectively, singing songs and beating thalis (metal plates) to celebrate what he called the festival of democracy.
"Bihar is set to experience a double Diwali this year," PM Modi stated. "First, people celebrated Diwali at the beginning of Navratri due to GST. The regular Diwali falls on October 20, which we will celebrate. Additionally, Bihar appears ready to celebrate the NDA's victory on November 14, with Bihar's sisters and daughters playing a major role in this achievement."
He added, "Women power constitutes my greatest strength, shield, and inspiration. All sisters and mothers in Bihar should vote in groups, singing songs and beating thalis to celebrate democracy's festival."
The Prime Minister instructed BJP booth workers to organize special programs for all "sisters" in their respective booths on Bhai Dooj (October 23) and to honor 'lakhpati didis' and 'drone didis' in their areas.
PM Modi urged BJP workers to reach out to every household to raise awareness about schemes launched by both the Central government and Nitish Kumar's government. He introduced the slogan "Ekjut NDA, Ekjut Bihar - Isse banegi sushashan ki sarkar" (United NDA, United Bihar - the government of good governance will be formed).
After greeting workers in Bhojpuri, Modi emphasized that "the party wins when every booth is strong" and declared that "every booth worker is Modi" in their area, asking them to personally guarantee government schemes to voters.
He suggested that booth workers should show and share videos about various government initiatives with families in their localities.
Modi claimed that Bihar's youth today are unaware of what transpired during the "jungle raj" period when Naxalism flourished, and asserted they must be educated about this history. He recommended that BJP workers take young people to exhibitions across Bihar showcasing the "atrocities of jungle raj," in an apparent reference to the RJD administration.
"We cannot risk allowing those who might permit a Naxal resurgence to return to power. The strength of Bihar's voters has protected the state from the malicious intentions of RJD and Congress, and will do so again," he stated.
On Wednesday, the BJP released its second list of 12 candidates for the upcoming assembly elections, nominating singer Maithili Thakur for the Alinagar seat and former IPS officer Anand Mishra for Buxar.
Elections for the 243-member Bihar Assembly are scheduled in two phases on November 6 and 11, with vote counting to take place on November 14.
