The ministerial convoy opted to make a U-turn to bypass a traffic congestion on Thane's Ghodbunder Road.
Social media platforms are buzzing with footage showing Maharashtra Forest Minister and Palghar Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik's convoy traveling against traffic flow to avoid severe congestion on Ghodbunder Road in Thane. The incident has sparked outrage among commuters who question whether traffic regulations are selectively enforced for ordinary citizens.
The controversial event occurred on Wednesday morning as Naik was en route to Palghar to attend a District Planning Committee meeting.
While traveling to Palghar, the BJP minister's police-escorted convoy executed a U-turn to circumvent traffic gridlock and proceeded to drive on the opposing side of the roadway.
Witnesses and motorists promptly documented the incident, capturing videos and photographs of the ministerial convoy violating traffic rules. The circulating footage clearly shows the minister seated in his vehicle.
Frustrated citizens voiced their indignation on social media platforms, claiming such incidents highlight the existence of "two Indias on the same road - one for the powerful and one for the powerless."
One disgruntled commuter remarked, "Traffic rules apply only to the 'aam aadmi' (common people), not VVIPs."
