Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: AAP Announces 48 More Candidates While BJP Releases First List of 71 Nominees

The Aam Aadmi Party has released its second list of 48 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, bringing their total to 59 nominees. Meanwhile, BJP has announced 71 candidates including Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha. The two-phase elections are scheduled for November 6 and 11, with results to be declared on November 14.

Bihar Assembly Polls: AAP Releases 2nd List Of 48 Candidates

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has unveiled its second list comprising 48 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

According to the announcement made on Tuesday, Prem Prapt Singh will contest from Chapra constituency, while Rajendra Prasad Singh has been designated for Lalganj. Additionally, Aditya Lal will represent the party from Purnia, and Inderjeet Jyotikar has been fielded from Hathua.

This follows AAP's previous announcement of 11 candidates in their first list, bringing their total declared candidates to 59 for the Bihar polls.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also released its first list of 71 candidates for the elections. Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha will contest from Tarapur and Lakhisarai constituencies respectively, while former Deputy Chief Ministers Renu Devi and Tarkishore Prasad have been fielded from Bettiah and Katihar.

Former Union Minister Ramkripal Yadav will represent the BJP from Danapur. Notably, Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav has not received a ticket from Patna Sahib, with Ratnesh Kushwaha being nominated instead. The party has also replaced long-serving Kumrahar MLA Arun Kumar Sinha with Sanjay Gupta.

The BJP's candidate list features seven female candidates: Renu Devi (Bettiah), Gayatri Devi (Parihar), Devanti Yadav (Narpatganj), Sweety Singh (Kishanganj), Nisha Singh (Pranpur), Kavita Devi (Korha - SC), and Rama Nishad (Aurai).

The BJP Central Election Committee, under JP Nadda's chairmanship, finalized these nominations during a meeting on October 12, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Bihar's assembly elections are scheduled in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results to be announced on November 14. The deadline for filing nominations for the first phase is October 17.
