Hyderabad:
Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president, KT Rama Rao, accused the ruling Congress of orchestrating "massive electoral fraud" and "vote chori" in the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election in Telangana. During a press conference, KTR presented what he described as conclusive evidence of systematic voter roll manipulation. The party has officially submitted their concerns to the Chief Electoral Officer with detailed allegations.
Citing inadequate response from the commission, KTR announced that BRS will petition the Telangana High Court tomorrow, seeking judicial intervention to ensure correction of the Jubilee Hills voter list before the by-election takes place.
According to the BRS leader, their ground-level verification revealed approximately 23,000 votes had been added to the Jubilee Hills constituency rolls since the 2023 Assembly election.
He highlighted abnormal mass voter registrations at individual addresses. As examples, he mentioned an 80-square-yard house mysteriously containing 23 registered voters, and another apartment with 43 voters whose owner reportedly denied knowledge of these individuals.
KTR also showcased cases including a Sircilla resident who unknowingly had a second, unauthorized Electoral Photo Identity Card registered in Jubilee Hills.
He further alleged that the state's Congress government was misusing official machinery and collaborating with junior officials to facilitate fraudulent vote registration, purportedly to secure victory in the critical by-poll.
"This is not just vote manipulation, this is the daylight murder of democracy," KTR declared, adding that Congress was employing "all means, persuasion, division, and coercion, to influence the outcome."
Congress leaders dismissed these allegations as desperate claims. Congress minister G Vivek Venkataswamy, overseeing the Jubilee Hills constituency, firmly denied any irregularities and accused KTR of making "unfounded allegations."
"KTR is under deep frustration because any survey you do in Jubilee Hills, all surveys are pointing towards a landslide victory for Congress," he stated. "Nowhere has 23,000 new voters registered. It is false. The Election Commission is under the control of Central government," he added.
The BRS expressed profound dissatisfaction with the Election Commission of India's response timeline.
KTR claimed their detailed evidence, including specific names and addresses, was submitted over 24 hours prior, yet no substantial action had been taken nor public statement issued by the election authority.
He challenged the commission's credibility, demanding immediate initiation of a comprehensive investigation, removal of all identified fake entries, and disciplinary measures against compromised field officers.
