Muslim Man Prays for Hindu Saint Premanand Maharaj in Medina: A Viral Demonstration of India's Interfaith Unity

A touching example of interfaith harmony has gone viral on social media featuring Sufiyan Allahabadi, a young Muslim man from Prayagraj, who offered prayers for Hindu saint Premanand Maharaj. The widely circulated 80-second video shows Allahabadi praying in Medina, one of Islam's holiest sites, for the recovery of the Vrindavan-based spiritual leader.

"Sant Premanand Maharaj is a very good person. We have learned that he is unwell. We are in Khizra now. From here, we pray that Allah grants him health and wellness. We are from India and we also admire him. He is a true and good human being," Sufiyan said while displaying Premanand Maharaj's photo on his phone.

"I have come from Prayagraj, the land of Ganga-Yamuna sangam. Hindu or Muslim does not matter. Being a good and true person is important," he further stated.

The video has garnered significant attention online, with social media users praising the man for his compassion and demonstration of religious tolerance.

"Aameen!!! Let there be peace, brotherhood, harmony and prosperity in our Motherland. Jai Bharat," commented one user, while another added: "You are a good human being."

Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, president of the All India Muslim Jamaat, commended Sufiyan for his video, noting that the young man's well-wishes for the Hindu saint aligned perfectly with Islam's fundamental principles.

"Islam is a religion of tolerance and humanity," said Barelvi, adding, "I also pray for Premanand Maharaj's speedy recovery."

Barelvi emphasized that Sufiyan praying for Premanand Maharaj from the sacred site of Medina Sharif represented a genuine example of humanity.

Born as Aniruddh Kumar Pandey in Kanpur to a Brahmin family, he left home at the age of 13 to pursue spiritual knowledge, according to his website.
