Tragic Incident in Hyderabad: Mother Smothers Twin Toddlers Before Committing Suicide Following Family Disputes

A tragic incident occurred in Hyderabad where a 27-year-old mother allegedly killed her twin toddlers before taking her own life. Challari Sailakshmi reportedly used a pillow to smother her two-year-old twins, Chetan Karthikeya and Lasyata Valli, at approximately 3:30 am before jumping from her fourth-floor residence in Balanagar, Hyderabad. Her husband, Anil Kumar, was at his workplace during this devastating event.

Investigators believe ongoing stress from frequent domestic disputes may have driven Sailakshmi to this extreme action. According to Police Inspector T Narsimha Raju, the couple regularly argued about their son Chetan's speech impairment. "Chetan was undergoing speech therapy, and disagreements between Sailakshmi and Anil Kumar regarding the child's condition led to regular conflicts," the officer explained.

Following the incident, Sailakshmi's parents have filed a formal complaint against Anil Kumar, who has subsequently been taken into police custody. Authorities have registered a case in connection with the deaths.

Building surveillance footage captured Sailakshmi's fall at 3:37 am. Neighbors, shocked by the incident, alerted law enforcement, who later discovered the children's bodies in the family apartment. The remains were transported to a hospital for post-mortem examination.
