Kolkata YouTuber and Minor Son Arrested for Sexual Assault and Blackmail of Police Officer's Daughter

The family of the minor girl submitted a formal written complaint against the accused father and son.

According to police statements on Sunday, a YouTuber and his underage son have been apprehended by Kolkata authorities for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl. The suspects reportedly blackmailed the victim using private photographs taken while pretending to create content for social media platforms.

The victim is the daughter of a Kolkata Police officer.

The assault occurred in the Haroa police station jurisdiction within Basirhat, North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal.

Following the minor girl's complaint, authorities arrested both the YouTuber and his minor son on Sunday.

Police investigations revealed that YouTuber Arabinda Mondal resides in Mohanpur, an area under Haroa police station authority.

The police officer and the minor victim also reside in the same neighborhood.

According to reports, the YouTuber and his son had invited the girl several months earlier, ostensibly to participate in video content creation.

The victim was transported to various locations under the pretense of creating social media content.

The girl's family, who were neighbors with the accused, initially raised no objections to these activities.

However, alongside legitimate video creation, the suspects allegedly captured inappropriate photographs and recordings of the girl without her knowledge or permission.

Subsequently, the YouTuber and his son began to blackmail the minor girl by threatening to expose these private materials.

"According to the complaint, Arabinda and his underage son sexually assaulted the girl after blackmailing her. They warned that if she informed anyone, they would distribute the compromising photographs and videos across social media platforms. Due to these threats, the victim remained silent and was assaulted multiple times. On Friday, the girl finally disclosed everything to her family. We have initiated an investigation based on their complaint and have arrested both father and son," explained a senior Basirhat police official.

Family members of the victim filed a formal complaint against the accused father and son at the Haroa police station.

By Sunday morning, authorities had arrested both the YouTuber and his minor son.

The accused were subsequently presented before the Basirhat Sub-divisional Court.
