32 Cases Against Hair Stylist Jawed Habib In UP Over 'Defrauding' Investors

A lookout notice has been issued against celebrity hairstylist Jawed Habib to prevent him and his family from leaving the country amid fraud allegations.

In Sambhal, authorities have filed 32 FIRs against Jawed Habib, his son Anos Habib, and another individual for allegedly defrauding investors by promising unusually high returns on investments.

On Sunday, Habib's attorney Pawan Kumar met with Sambhal Police officials and presented medical documentation citing the hairstylist's deteriorating health condition.

The allegations state that Habib, his son, and an associate operated a scheme under Follicle Global Company (FLC), collecting between Rs 5-7 lakh from individual investors with promises of 50-70 percent returns on Bitcoin investments.

Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Vishnoi previously stated, "They collected approximately Rs 5-7 lakh from each investor, promising substantial returns, but even after two-and-a-half years, none of the investors have received their money back."

According to police investigations, preliminary estimates suggest the financial fraud could amount to Rs 5-7 crore in total.

Authorities have issued a lookout notice to prevent Habib and his family members from leaving India during the investigation.

Raia Satti police station in-charge Govind Kumar explained, "After thorough investigation, 32 FIRs have been registered against Jawed Habib, his son Anos, and an associate named Saiful. They received notices to appear for questioning. On Sunday, Habib's lawyer met with us. We informed him that Habib must appear in person to record his statement."

Habib's lawyer Pawan Kumar met with the station house officer and submitted medical records documenting the celebrity hairstylist's poor health condition.

"My client suffers from heart problems and recently lost his father. He is currently unwell and unable to appear in person. We are fully cooperating with the police investigation," Kumar told reporters.

The lawyer added that Habib maintains complete faith in the judiciary and the Constitution.

"We believe the police will conduct a fair investigation. The allegations are still under investigation. We remain ready to cooperate at every stage of the process," Kumar stated.

Police officials have confirmed that investigations are ongoing regarding the alleged investment fraud involving numerous complainants from the district.
