Muzaffarnagar:
A 30-year-old woman suffered severe injuries following an explosion of old firecrackers at a residence in Khatuli town located in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district, police officials reported.
Police investigations revealed that the incident occurred when old firecrackers, which had been placed on the rooftop of the house in Islamnagar locality for drying purposes, unexpectedly detonated, causing serious injuries to the woman identified as Ashi.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjay Kumar confirmed that the injured woman was promptly transported to a medical facility to receive treatment for her wounds.
Initial reports indicate that the explosion occurred during the drying process of the firecrackers. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident, the SSP stated.
Police officials further noted that the explosion caused substantial damage to the structural integrity of the residence.
