BSF Seizes 20 kg Gold Biscuits Worth Rs 2.82 Crore in Major Operation at India-Bangladesh Border

Border Security Force personnel intercepted a smuggler at the India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal's Nadia district, seizing 20 gold biscuits valued at Rs 2.82 crore. Acting on precise intelligence, BSF's 32nd battalion apprehended the Indian national from Muslimpara village who was attempting to smuggle gold from Bangladesh through the Horandipur area.

BSF personnel intercepted 20 kg of gold biscuits at the India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal's Nadia district. The operation resulted in the apprehension of a smuggler according to an official statement released by the paramilitary force.

The 32nd battalion of Border Security Force stationed at Horandipur BOP received intelligence regarding an Indian national from Muslimpara village near the border. The suspect was allegedly planning to smuggle gold illegally transported from Bangladesh through the Horandipur region. Following this intelligence, BSF jawans on duty were placed on high alert, the statement revealed on Saturday.

On Saturday morning at approximately 6:00 am, BSF personnel observed an individual moving suspiciously behind a thick bamboo forest area. The suspect was quickly surrounded and detained by the vigilant forces. Upon searching the individual, officers discovered a plastic packet containing 20 gold biscuits with an estimated value of Rs 2.82 crore.

The official social media account of BSF South Bengal Frontier posted: "Acting on precise intelligence, #VigilantBSF troops of South Bengal Frontier apprehended a smuggler attempting to bring gold into India from Bangladesh. The operation led to the seizure of 20 gold biscuits weighing 2332.66 grams, valued at ₹2.82 crore. #BSFSeizedGold #AlertBSF"

The smuggler was immediately taken into custody at the scene and transported to Horandipur BOP for interrogation. The statement further mentioned that both the seized gold biscuits and the apprehended individual were handed over to the relevant authorities for subsequent legal proceedings.
