Triple Murder in UP: Muslim Cleric's Wife and Two Daughters Found Brutally Killed on Mosque Premises

The Muslim cleric was absent in Deoband when the tragic incident occurred.

In a shocking incident in Baghpat district, the wife and two young daughters of a Muslim cleric were discovered brutally murdered with a sharp-edged weapon inside their home on Saturday, according to police reports.

Police officials stated that Israna (30), wife of Ibrahim who serves as the Imam of the main mosque in Gangnauli village, along with their daughters Sofia (5) and Sumaiya (2), were found dead in pools of blood within their residence located on the mosque premises.

At the time of the murders, Imam Ibrahim was reportedly away in Deoband on business.

The horrific discovery was made when children arriving for their daily lessons at the mosque spotted the bodies and raised an alarm.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Rai, Additional SP Praveen Kumar Chauhan, and Circle Officer Vijay Kumar immediately arrived at the scene and arranged for the bodies to be sent for post-mortem examination.

As authorities attempted to remove the bodies, some villagers protested, demanding swift justice for the victims. Senior officials intervened to calm the situation, assuring the community that appropriate action would be taken.

Considering the sensitive nature of the case, Deputy Inspector General (Meerut Range) Kalanidhi Naithani visited the crime scene and ordered a comprehensive investigation.

"We are investigating all possible motives including family disputes, robbery, or personal enmity. Five specialized teams have been assembled to work on the case. We expect to apprehend the perpetrators soon," Naithani stated.

According to police information, Imam Ibrahim originally hails from Sunna village in Muzaffarnagar district and had been serving at Gangnauli's Badi Masjid for approximately four years. His wife, Israna, taught children at the mosque compound.
