New Delhi Television (NDTV) has raised Rs 396.49 crore through its oversubscribed rights issue, increasing promoters' holdings to 69.02%. The funds will expand NDTV's distribution network, support brand initiatives, reduce debt, and advance its digital-first strategy, positioning the Adani Group subsidiary for stronger growth in both domestic and international markets.

New Delhi Television (NDTV) has successfully secured Rs 396.49 crore through its rights issue that was recently completed. The issue was oversubscribed by 1.11 times, with applications received for 5.36 crore shares against the offered 4.83 crore shares, as reported in the media company's exchange filing.

Following the share allotment, NDTV's total equity shares have expanded from 6.45 crore to 11.28 crore. The promoters have increased their stake from 64.71% to 69.02%, while public shareholding now stands at 30.98%, according to the company statement.

The newly raised capital will be utilized to expand NDTV's distribution network both within India and internationally, support brand-building initiatives, reduce existing debt, and fund new intellectual properties alongside general corporate requirements. This financial boost is expected to enhance NDTV's financial flexibility, enabling the organization to advance its digital-first growth strategy.

Rahul Kanwal, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of NDTV, emphasized that the robust response to the rights issue demonstrated shareholders' trust and confidence in the company's vision.

"With the promoters also increasing their stake, NDTV is now well-positioned to strengthen its platforms, expand its reach, and continue delivering credible, impactful journalism. This capital will facilitate our expansion both within India and globally, while investing in innovation and digital transformation," added Kanwal.

SBI Capital Markets Limited served as the financial advisor for the rights issue, with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas providing legal guidance. Kfin Technologies Limited acted as the registrar.
