New Delhi:
An Akasa Air flight operating from Pune to Delhi experienced a bird strike incident on Friday but managed to land safely at its destination in the national capital.
According to an airline spokesperson who provided a statement to PTI, the aircraft is currently undergoing examination by the engineering team and will resume service only after completing a comprehensive inspection protocol.
"Akasa Air flight QP 1607 traveling from Pune to Delhi on 10th October 2025 encountered a bird hit. The aircraft landed safely with all passengers and crew members successfully deplaned," the spokesperson confirmed.
The airline did not reveal specific information about the number of passengers aboard the flight.
The affected flight was operated using a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft and arrived in Delhi shortly after 10 am on Friday, as indicated by data available on the flight tracking platform Flightradar24.com.
Sources reported that the aircraft that suffered the bird strike had been scheduled to continue service on the Delhi to Goa route. Due to the incident, this subsequent flight experienced a delay of several hours as the airline deployed a replacement aircraft to maintain operations on that route.
