Son Murders Mother Over Property Dispute in UP: Staged Suicide Uncovered by Police Investigation

In Kaushambi, authorities apprehended a 30-year-old man on Friday following the discovery that he had murdered his mother and staged the scene to appear as suicide.

The suspect, identified as Kishan Kishore, resides in Kherwa village within Kaushambi district.

According to police investigations, Kishan strangled his 55-year-old mother, Sheela Devi, on Thursday evening. His motive was reportedly fear that she would transfer ownership of her land and approximately Rs 3 lakh from her bank account to his brother.

Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar informed reporters that Sheela Devi had been residing at her cousin Jai Singh's residence in Kherwa village for a period of time.

On Thursday evening, her body was discovered hanging from a rope at Jai Singh's house, initially suggesting suicide.

However, subsequent forensic examination revealed strangulation as the actual cause of death, contradicting the staged suicide scenario.

Based on autopsy findings and electronic evidence collected from the scene, investigators questioned Kishan intensively, leading to his confession.

The Superintendent confirmed that following his arrest, Kishan was processed and remanded to jail custody.
