A Northeast woman shared on social media that she had posted a video to "raise awareness" following a distressing encounter with an Uber auto driver in Bengaluru.

The woman, identified as Enn Bii, recounted a troubling experience of verbal abuse and intimidation from an Uber auto driver in Bengaluru. According to her account, the driver attempted to physically assault her and captured unauthorized photos and videos after she cancelled a scheduled ride on October 2.

In her Instagram post featuring video evidence of the confrontation, the auto driver can be heard demanding she speak Kannada, a language she doesn't understand, while appearing to attempt to strike her.

During her interview with NDTV, Enn Bii described how an ordinary journey quickly escalated into a frightening situation. "I booked an Uber auto to reach my office around 7:00 pm on October 2. After confirming my pickup location with the driver, the app indicated his arrival, but he wasn't at the designated spot. Due to time constraints, I cancelled the booking and arranged alternative transportation," she explained.

"After traveling a short distance, the driver suddenly appeared, nearly causing a collision with our vehicle. He approached me aggressively, attempting to physically intimidate me while demanding payment. He insisted I communicate in Kannada, which I don't speak. When I requested he speak Hindi instead, he became increasingly hostile and began verbally abusing me," she continued.

The victim further revealed that during this confrontation, the driver began taking photographs and recording videos of her without permission. "I'm concerned about his intentions for capturing my images and videos. I worry about potential misuse of this content - he might distribute it to others," she expressed.

Enn Bii explained her decision to share video documentation of the incident on Instagram, stating it was intended to "spread awareness" and ensure "people might recognize him."

Following her social media post, Bengaluru City Police requested details about the incident location and her contact information. Uber escalated the matter to their specialized team for investigation and issued an apology stating, "This behavior was extremely concerning, and we're so sorry this happened."
