Patna: Bhojpuri actor-politician Pawan Singh's wife, Jyoti Singh, met with Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor on Friday as Bihar assembly elections approach.

The meeting took place at the Sheikhpura House in Patna, just one day after Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party announced 51 candidates for the upcoming elections to the 243-seat Bihar assembly, scheduled for November 6 and 11.

Jyoti Singh, who is Pawan Singh's second wife and has previously accused him of infidelity, has been engaged in a public dispute with her husband over electoral ambitions. The actor-politician has claimed his wife is pressuring him to secure an election ticket for her.

In response to these allegations, Jyoti Singh told NDTV on Tuesday, "I had helped him extensively last time, wearing out my slippers in the area... If I want to contest, I will. I have put in a lot of work, and people know it." She maintained that her political aspirations are independent of her husband's electoral plans.

Earlier, Pawan Singh shared a lengthy statement in Hindi on social media, accusing his wife of using their relationship for political advantage. He wrote, "I know only one thing in my life that the public is God for me. Will I hurt the sentiments of all of you, because of whom I have reached this far? Jyoti Singh ji. Is it not true that when you came to my society yesterday morning, I respectfully invited you to my house and we talked for about 1:30 hours?"

Pawan Singh, who was previously dropped by the BJP last year due to his controversial image, has recently rejoined the party ahead of the Bihar elections. Following meetings with senior BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda, reports suggest he may be fielded as a candidate from the Arrah assembly constituency.
