Fatal Explosion in Ayodhya: 5 Dead as House Collapses in Pagla Bhari Village

Ayodhya:

A devastating explosion caused a house to collapse in Pagla Bhari village under Pura Kalandar police station jurisdiction in Ayodhya on Thursday, resulting in at least five fatalities and multiple injuries, according to officials.

Circle Officer (CO) Shailendra Singh informed PTI that several individuals were potentially still trapped beneath the rubble as rescue operations continued. "Five people have died in the explosion, a few have been injured, and efforts are ongoing to rescue those trapped. The cause of the blast remains undetermined," Singh stated.

Following notification of the incident, police forces, fire department personnel, and local administration teams promptly arrived at the scene.

Emergency responders have deployed excavators to remove debris, while surrounding houses have been evacuated as a safety precaution.

Authorities have urged local residents to maintain distance from the accident site to facilitate rescue efforts. Senior police and administrative officials are currently overseeing the operation while simultaneously initiating an investigation into the explosion's cause.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has acknowledged the incident and expressed profound sorrow regarding the loss of lives.

According to an official statement, the Chief Minister has instructed senior officials to immediately proceed to the location, ensure proper medical care for the injured, and personally supervise the ongoing rescue and relief operations.
