Haryana Man Arrested for Murdering Girlfriend in Delhi Over Suspicions of Infidelity

A 25-year-old Haryana man has been apprehended for allegedly murdering his girlfriend in her south Delhi rented accommodation after suspecting her of being unfaithful, police officials announced Thursday.

The accused, identified as Himanshu from Hansi, was arrested Wednesday night along with another individual after fleeing Delhi, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan.

Himanshu had been in a relationship with the victim, Sakshi, who was employed at a private company in Okhla and had resided in the Kotla Mubarakpur area for approximately one year. The couple initially met in Rajasthan before beginning their romantic relationship, the officer explained.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Himanshu visited Sakshi's residence Tuesday evening, where the couple became embroiled in an argument stemming from his suspicions that she was involved with another man.

"During their heated exchange, Himanshu attacked her multiple times with a kitchen knife before escaping and locking the room from outside," stated the DCP.

Authorities became aware of the incident around 9:19 PM following a PCR call reporting a disturbance in the building and bloodstains on the staircase. The caller mentioned that his parents, residents of the building, had heard concerning noises from the tenant's room.

A police team dispatched to the location discovered the first-floor room locked from the outside. After breaking the lock, officers found a woman lying in a pool of blood inside the room.

She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals declared her dead on arrival. Examination revealed injuries to her face and throat, indicating an attack with a sharp-edged weapon.

Police subsequently identified the deceased as Sakshi, a resident of Delhi's Hauz Khas area.

Investigators analyzed over 250 CCTV footage clips from surrounding areas and employed technical surveillance to track the accused to Haryana, where he was apprehended. Authorities have registered a murder case, and the investigation continues.
