His Dream: Zubeen Garg's Wife, Sister Turn Up For Shooting Of His Last Film

Zubeen Garg's wife Garima Saikia Garg was present at the shooting of his final film.

A poignant atmosphere enveloped the grounds of a private university in Guwahati as filming commenced on late singer Zubeen Garg's final cinematic work 'Roi Roi Binale'.

Among those present were Zubeen Garg's wife Garima Saikia Garg, his sister Palme Borthakur, and several other family members.

This personal project of the beloved singer is scheduled for nationwide theatrical release on October 31.

"We arrived at the set to film some concluding scenes for 'Roi Roi Binale'. This was Zubeen's passion project. During the editing process, we realized certain sequences were still needed. The plan was to complete these after his return from Singapore, but circumstances changed. We're now finishing it according to his wishes. Zubeen had specified this film should premiere on October 31, so we're doing everything possible to honor that date," explained the late singer's wife to the media.

The acclaimed singer tragically drowned while swimming in Singapore on September 19, where he had traveled to perform at a festival.

Rajesh Bhuyan, the film's director, informed journalists that Zubeen Garg's actual voice would be used for dubbing through AI technology.

The production team has collected voice samples from the late singer, the director added.

This film, honoring Garg's exceptional talent and devotion to Assamese music, will showcase the singer's authentic voice.

"We've been developing this film over the past three years. Both the narrative and musical composition were created by Zubeen Garg... This represents the first musical film in Assamese cinema... We had nearly completed all aspects of production, with only the background score remaining... Zubeen Garg wanted the film released on October 31st, so we've committed to that date, not just in Assam but throughout India... Approximately 80-90% of Zubeen Garg's voice recordings are clear, captured using a lapel microphone. We will therefore use his original voice," Bhuyan stated.
