Bengaluru Man Arrested For Killing Wife With Rolling Pin: A Case of Fatal Domestic Violence

A man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife with a rolling pin in Bengaluru, police reported on Tuesday.

Preeti Singh (28) and her husband Chota Lal Singh (32), originally from Madhya Pradesh, were living with their two children in Chokkasandra. Both were employed at a private company.

Chota Lal Singh, who worked as a helper at the company, reportedly subjected his wife to regular mental and physical abuse without provocation.

On September 24, when Preeti returned home for lunch in the afternoon, her husband initiated an argument as usual and attacked her with a rolling pin used for making chapatis, inflicting severe injuries to her head and body.

Following the assault, the injured wife was taken to a hospital in T Dasarahalli, where the husband attempted to hide the truth by telling doctors that his wife had fallen from a building.

The couple's children approached their mother's employer and revealed that their father had assaulted their mother.

The company owner subsequently filed a complaint at Peenya police station, leading to the accused being taken into custody for questioning. During interrogation, he admitted to violently attacking his wife with a rolling pin, according to a police officer.

He was arrested and presented before the Court the same day, which ordered his judicial custody.

On October 2, Preeti Singh succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment, police confirmed.
