Tragic Family Dispute Turns Fatal: Two Sisters Killed in Vehicle Attack in Rajasthan's Ajmer

Jaipur: Two women were fatally struck by a vehicle during a violent confrontation between two families in Rajasthan's Ajmer district, police officials reported on Tuesday. Seven additional individuals sustained injuries in the incident.

The tragic event occurred around midnight in the vicinity of Kayad Tiraha area. Authorities identified the deceased as 30-year-old Meenakshi Banjara and her 18-year-old sister Pinky Banjara.

According to Civil Lines Station House Officer Shambhu Singh, the women were deliberately run over by relatives of their nephew's in-laws following an ongoing family dispute.

The victims' nephew, 30-year-old Ishwar Banjara, filed a complaint stating that he had been experiencing marital problems with his wife, who had relocated to her parents' home in Kishangarh approximately three months prior. Attempts to reconcile and bring her back had resulted in escalating tensions between the two families.

Ishwar alleged that around midnight, his father-in-law Chhotu Lal, accompanied by several others, arrived at their residence and launched an attack using wooden sticks. "They assaulted family members, and when people attempted to flee, the attackers deliberately struck them with a vehicle, resulting in the deaths of two women," police representatives explained.

Both victims were transported to JLN Government Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced them deceased upon arrival. Law enforcement officials have taken ten suspects into custody in connection with the violent incident.
