PM Modi Slams Trinamool After Attack On BJP MP In Bengal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC) administration in West Bengal following an attack on BJP officials, including an MP and an MLA, describing the state's law and order situation as "absolutely pathetic."

BJP MP Khagen Murmu and MLA Sankar Ghosh sustained injuries when they were assaulted by a mob during their visit to the flood and landslide-affected Dooars region in northern West Bengal.

Taking to social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi condemned the ruling party for the incident, expressing his wish that the state government and TMC would focus more on providing assistance to affected citizens rather than engaging in violence during such a critical situation.

"The manner in which our party colleagues, including a sitting MP and MLA, were attacked in West Bengal for serving the people affected by floods and landslides is outright appalling. It highlights the insensitivity of the TMC as well as the absolutely pathetic law and order situation in the state," stated PM Modi.

He further urged BJP workers to "continue working among the people and assist the ongoing rescue operations" despite the attack.
