Noida:

Residents of a high-rise society in Noida experienced an extraordinary encounter when they discovered a cobra inside an elevator. The incident, which occurred at Golden Palm Society in Sector 168 on Sunday, caused significant alarm among the building's inhabitants.

According to eyewitness accounts, several residents were waiting for the elevator when it arrived containing an unexpected passenger - a fully grown cobra with its hood expanded, moving across the floor. The discovery triggered immediate panic and prompted a rapid call to the building's maintenance team.

The maintenance staff, utilizing improvised equipment, successfully captured the venomous reptile by securing it inside a garbage container. Subsequently, the snake was transported and released in an open area nearby.

However, the incident has created considerable anxiety among the society's residents. Many have expressed concern that if a snake could access the elevator, it might potentially appear anywhere within the complex - including common areas like the gym and lobby, or even within individual apartments. Parents have reported that their children now fear using the elevators without adult supervision.

Previous sightings of snakes have been reported within the society's grounds, with speculation that they may be entering from adjacent green spaces.
