An eight-year-old boy has tragically died after falling from a second-floor balcony, according to police reports released on Sunday.

The father of the victim informed police that the tragedy occurred on Saturday evening while his two sons were engaged in play near the balcony area.

His elder son, Raunak (8), was climbing on the balcony grill when he lost his balance and plummeted to the street below. Upon seeing their son bleeding heavily, the family immediately rushed him to a nearby medical facility where he unfortunately succumbed to the injuries sustained in the fall.

The boy's father earns his living as a labourer and is also parent to another son aged six years.

Following notification of the incident, police officials arrived at the scene and arranged for the body to undergo post-mortem examination. The remains were subsequently released to the grieving family.
