Woman's Sexual Harassment Claim Against Blinkit Delivery Driver Prompts Police Investigation and Company Action

A woman has ignited a social media discussion after alleging inappropriate touching by a Blinkit delivery agent. She posted video evidence on X showing the driver apparently touching her chest while delivering a package. The footage displays the delivery person in Blinkit's distinctive yellow uniform handing over the parcel and collecting payment. When returning change, he appears to touch her chest inappropriately, causing her to quickly reposition the package as a barrier.

The customer expressed dissatisfaction with Blinkit's initial handling of her complaint. In her social media post, she wrote: "This is what happened with me today while ordering from Blinkit. The delivery guy asked for my address again and then touched me inappropriately. This is NOT acceptable. @letsblinkit please take strict action. #Harassment #Safety @letsblinkit ...is women safety a joke in India?"

According to the woman, Blinkit initially responded inadequately, merely issuing a warning and recommending sensitivity training for the driver after her verbal complaint. Only after she provided video evidence did the company take more decisive action, terminating the delivery agent's contract and permanently removing him from their platform.

Blinkit subsequently replied to her post: "Hi, we appreciate your time over the phone. We're truly sorry for the incident and understand how upsetting this must be. Please be assured that the necessary actions have been taken as discussed. Feel free to DM us for any further questions or support."

Mumbai Police also engaged with her complaint, responding: "We have followed you. Please share your contact details in DM."

The incident generated diverse reactions on X. While most users supported the woman and demanded accountability from Blinkit, some questioned whether the contact might have been accidental, sparking debate about the incident.

One supporter commented: "Yes, it can be clearly seen he deliberately brought his hand close to your upper body and touched you inappropriately. You flinching can be seen. You're lucky or well prepared camera wise.. without this recording it would be hard to pin his crime. Take it up strongly."

However, another user offered a different perspective: "It's clearly evident, he didn't do it intentionally. You handed over the money on his right hand and the guy had Delivery on left! You are seeking attention! Simple."
