The police confirmed that a tragic incident occurred where a man allegedly jumped into the Yamuna River with his four children after discovering his wife had eloped with another individual.
According to police reports, Salman took this desperate action following a domestic dispute with his wife on Friday. Prior to the incident, he recorded a video message which he forwarded to his sister, Gulista. In the recording, he blamed his wife, Khushnuma, and her companion for his decision.
The video subsequently became public online.
Gulista contacted authorities on Saturday, prompting police to visit the location and initiate a rescue operation with professional divers.
Additional Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh identified the children as Mahak (12), Shifa (5), Aman (3), and eight-month-old Inaisha.
Family members revealed that Salman and Khushnuma had been in a marriage for 15 years, but recently experienced escalating family conflicts.
The most recent disagreement happened on Friday, after which Khushnuma allegedly left with her boyfriend. Following this, Salman took his children to the Yamuna bridge where the incident occurred.
Police officials stated that the investigation continues.
