As the inauguration of Navi Mumbai International Airport approaches, Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, visited the facility to personally meet the staff who contributed to its construction and will operate it. He shared his appreciation on X, acknowledging that the airport represents the collective effort of "every hand that worked and every heart that cared."
The chairman's social media message was in response to a post by his son, Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airports, who described his father's walkthrough and expression of gratitude as a "deeply touching and humbling lesson in leadership."
During his visit, Gautam Adani specifically recognized the contributions of differently-abled colleagues, construction workers, and various staff members who played vital roles in developing the airport infrastructure.
His message on X read: "To every hand that worked and every heart that cared, this is your creation. 🙏"
Set to be inaugurated on October 8, the Navi Mumbai International Airport will serve both domestic and international travelers. The facility features a 3,700-metre runway designed to accommodate large commercial aircraft, state-of-the-art passenger terminals, and sophisticated air traffic control systems.
Upon becoming fully operational, the airport is projected to handle 20 million passengers annually.
Several airlines including IndiGo, Akasa Air, and Air India Express have already announced plans to launch operations from this new aviation hub, with initial flight routes connecting various cities across India.
