Tragic Drowning of 16-Year-Old During Durga Idol Immersion Ceremony in Ayodhya

In a tragic incident in Ayodhya district, a 16-year-old boy named Sandeep drowned during a Durga idol immersion ceremony, authorities confirmed on Friday.

The teenager, who resided in Salhipur Parsipur village in Bikapur tehsil, had accompanied his family members and fellow villagers to witness the Durga idol immersion on Thursday. During the event, he accidentally slipped into the pond and drowned.

After receiving notification of the incident, police promptly arrived at the scene with a professional diving team. Following an extensive five-hour search operation, the rescuers successfully recovered Sandeep's body from the water.

Despite being immediately transported to a community health center, medical professionals declared that Sandeep was brought in deceased, according to Additional District Magistrate Anirudh Singh.

Authorities have subsequently sent the body for post-mortem examination as part of the investigation protocol.
