Delivery Agent Arrested in Gurugram for Kidnapping and Sexual Assault of 8-Year-Old Girl Under POCSO Act

The police have included Section 6 of the POCSO Act in their report against the accused.

Police authorities have apprehended a delivery boy for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl in Gurugram's Sector 93, as confirmed by officials on Thursday.

According to police statements, an FIR was filed at the Sector 10 police station following a complaint submitted on Wednesday regarding the child's abduction. The girl was successfully rescued within hours of the report.

During the subsequent investigation, authorities discovered that the perpetrator, identified as 21-year-old Samad from Sector 83, had enticed the minor girl by offering her food before committing the sexual assault.

Following these findings, law enforcement officials added Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act to the existing FIR and promptly detained the accused.

"The interrogation revealed that the suspect works as a delivery agent for a private company. He deceived the young girl with promises of food and subsequently sexually assaulted her," explained a spokesperson from the Gurugram police department.

The investigation continues as authorities gather additional evidence in the case.
