Police Arrest Goldy Brar Gang Members Planning Assassination of Comedian Munawar Faruqui

Two members of the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar-Virender Charan criminal organization were apprehended following an exchange of gunfire on Jaitpur-Kalindi Kunj Road in New Delhi on Thursday, according to police reports. These individuals were allegedly assigned to assassinate popular stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui.

The suspects, identified as Rahul and Sahil, originate from Panipat and Bhiwani in Haryana, respectively. Investigators revealed that both men were operating under instructions from internationally-based gangster Rohit Godara, who was collaborating with Goldy Brar and Virender Charan in the plot against Faruqui.

Police stated that the suspects had conducted surveillance operations in Mumbai and Bengaluru to monitor Faruqui's activities and movements. Munawar Faruqui, who emerged victorious in the reality television program Bigg Boss in 2024, commands a significant social media presence with 14.2 million followers on Instagram.

During the confrontation, Rahul sustained a gunshot wound and required medical attention. Authorities noted that he was previously wanted in connection with a triple homicide that occurred in Yamunanagar, Haryana, in December 2024.

Law enforcement officials confiscated weapons used during the encounter and seized a motorcycle from the suspects. The investigation into the assassination plot continues as authorities work to uncover additional details regarding the criminal network's operations.
