India's Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) has officially been implemented, as announced by Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced on Wednesday that the free trade agreement between India and the four European nations bloc EFTA has officially come into effect.

"Truly a historic day, as the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) comes into force," Goyal stated in a post on X.

The minister emphasized that this agreement will create new avenues for trade, investment, and job opportunities, bringing advantages to citizens and businesses alike.

Guy Parmelin, Head of the Swiss Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, also acknowledged the significance of the occasion, saying, "Today marks the entry into force of the Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) between EFTA and India."

The implementation of this trade pact represents a milestone in economic relations between India and the European Free Trade Association countries.
