Family Critically Injured After Suspicious Explosion in Andhra Pradesh Home

The explosion resulted in significant structural damage throughout the residence.

A husband and wife were severely injured, while their young child sustained minor injuries following an unexplained explosion at their residence in Andhra Pradesh's Alur district early Tuesday.

Disturbing footage revealed the couple, Sudarshan Achaar (32) and Kavya (28), in extreme pain with serious burns covering their legs and upper bodies. Initially transported to the Hassan district hospital for medical attention, they were subsequently transferred to Bengaluru for specialized care.

Officials confirmed their child is currently receiving medical treatment as well.

The powerful blast caused severe damage to the property, breaking windows and doors throughout the home.

Investigators believe the explosion may have been caused by gelatin sticks. Following the incident, authorities discovered various chemical compounds and metal fragments inside the residence.

Law enforcement from Alur is conducting an investigation with assistance from forensic specialists from Bengaluru, according to official sources.
