A disturbing incident occurred at Srijan Public School in Panipat, where Haryana Police arrested both a school principal and a bus driver for severely mistreating a seven-year-old student.
The Class 2 student endured physical abuse from the school bus driver, who tied the child upside down from a window and proceeded to beat him. Additional footage revealed the school principal repeatedly slapping multiple students and pulling one child's ears in front of their classmates.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Satish Vats confirmed the arrests of both the principal and driver. The incident actually took place on August 13, but the victim's family only discovered what happened on September 27 when the driver posted the incriminating video on social media.
Principal Reena and bus driver Ajay have been charged under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act, including voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful confinement, and criminal intimidation. They also face charges under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
When questioned about her actions, the principal claimed she had slapped certain students for misbehaving toward two female students and had informed those children's parents the same day.
The principal acknowledged summoning the driver to reprimand the student for incomplete homework but maintained she only learned about the extreme physical punishment after the boy's parents visited the school on Saturday to raise concerns.
She stated that upon discovering driver Ajay's inappropriate behavior—tying the uniformed child's legs with rope and hanging him from a window—she terminated his employment on August 30. However, several parents have alleged that the principal routinely forced students to clean classroom floors and toilets as punishment.
