Madhya Pradesh Congress Leader's Son Caught On Camera Assaulting Two Men

Nir Prajapati is captured on video threatening two men in Madhya Pradesh.
The Congress party in Madhya Pradesh faces a new controversy after footage emerged showing Nir Prajapati, son of former Assembly Speaker NP Prajapati, allegedly assaulting two individuals. Police have registered an FIR at Kotwali police station against Nir Prajapati and his nephews, Amit alias Ammu Prajapati and Vinod Prajapati.
The incident gained public attention when a video went viral on social media late Friday night. In the recording, Nir Prajapati can be heard verbally abusing the victims and boasting that "half of Bhopal fears his name." Adding to the controversy, former Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker NP Prajapati appears in the video seemingly attempting to intervene during the confrontation.
Though the assault reportedly occurred on September 10, it only came to public attention after the video circulated online. Victims Aniket Bairagi and Neeraj Bairagi filed their official complaint with Kotwali police on Saturday.
According to Aniket Bairagi's statement, the confrontation stemmed from an earlier dispute between his brother-in-law Neeraj and Amit Prajapati on September 3. Aniket claims he visited the Prajapati residence hoping to resolve the situation peacefully, but instead was subjected to verbal abuse, threats, and physical violence.
Kotwali Station House Officer Gaurav Chante confirmed: "The video has been circulating on social media for some days. Until now, no one had filed a complaint. Following the complaint by Aniket Bairagi, a case has been registered."
Authorities have charged Nir Prajapati and his relatives under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Sections 296, 115(1), 351(2), and 3(5).
The incident poses significant reputational damage to NP Prajapati, a prominent Congress figure and former Assembly Speaker, particularly as his son's boastful claim about people fearing his name has now been widely publicized. The controversy provides potential ammunition to the ruling BJP, which has repeatedly accused Congress of protecting party leaders' family members from legal consequences.
