Home Ministry Requests Report on Fatal Stampede at Vijay's Tamil Nadu Rally

Union Home Minister Amit Shah conducted conversations with Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi and Chief Minister M K Stalin on Saturday to assess the situation after a deadly stampede occurred in Karur. During these discussions, Shah promised all necessary assistance from the central government to address the crisis, according to sources.

Sources further indicated that the Union Home Ministry has requested a detailed report from the Tamil Nadu government regarding the incident.

The tragic stampede at actor-politician Vijay's political rally in Karur has resulted in at least 38 fatalities.

In its formal communication to the Tamil Nadu administration, the Home Ministry requested comprehensive information about the circumstances that led to the stampede and inquired about the measures implemented for victim rescue and medical treatment, sources revealed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his sorrow over the incident, while Home Minister Amit Shah communicated his "deep pain" regarding the loss of lives in this tragedy.
