West Bengal Social Media Influencer Arrested For Derogatory Remarks Against Indian Army

Police in West Bengal have arrested social media influencer Biswajit Biswas for making highly derogatory remarks against the Indian Armed Forces on social media platforms.

Biswas, a resident of Aranghata in Nadia district, was taken into custody late Friday night and subsequently presented before a district court on Saturday afternoon, according to police officials.

Following his court appearance, the accused reportedly offered profuse apologies for his actions.

Authorities initiated the arrest after receiving multiple complaints from both neighbors and social media connections of Biswas. The complaints highlighted his pattern of spreading false information about the Indian Armed Forces.

Police reports indicate that Biswas regularly posted derogatory content about the military and frequently conducted Facebook Live sessions where he used highly objectionable language to abuse the Armed Forces and serving personnel.

Local community members who noticed this concerning behavior reported it to police, resulting in his arrest.

During questioning, investigators noted that Biswas was unable to provide any explanation for his animosity toward the Indian Armed Forces or his motivation for publishing such inflammatory content.

This incident follows earlier cases from Operation Sindoor where certain individuals in West Bengal faced police action for making objectionable comments about the Indian Army.

Law enforcement officials expressed particular confusion regarding Biswas's case, noting the seemingly unprovoked nature of his actions.

"Many people in the area are also upset with the behavior of the young man," a district police official stated.
